Common questions
How do I back up my recipes?
Open Settings (the gear at the top right), then Your data, and choose Back up. Soaplet saves one file with your recipes, batches, scents, prices and maker details. Keep it in Files, iCloud Drive or email it to yourself.
How do I move my recipes to a new iPhone or iPad?
Make a backup on the old device as above. On the new one, open Settings, then Your data, choose Restore and pick the backup file. Restoring adds the recipes from the file to what is already on the phone.
Can I change the language or text size?
Yes. Tap the language button at the top left to switch language at any time. Text size is in Settings, under App.
How do I delete my data?
Open Settings, then Your data, and choose Delete everything. Deleting the app also removes everything it stored on your device.
Why does my soap not match another calculator exactly?
Calculators use slightly different saponification values for the same oil, so lye weights can differ by a gram or two. Soaplet uses common average values. Always check a new recipe against a second calculator before you make it.
Is the app safe to rely on?
Soaplet gives careful guidance, but soap making uses caustic lye. Wear gloves and eye protection, weigh everything, and check your recipe before you start. You are responsible for the soap you make and sell, including any cosmetic safety assessment your country requires.
